I have been employed with INCAT as Autodesk Practice Manager for over eight years, and have consulted to over hundreds of clients helping them achieve significant increases in productivity and decreases in inefficiencies. I have extensive knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, from the very first version – release 1 to now what is release 2008. I also have experience with other CAD systems, including SolidWorks, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Unigraphics (NX). I am proud to say I received the 2000 Autodesk Central Regional Mechanical Award of Excellence and the 2002 Autodesk Inventor Channel Excellence (ICE) Program Award from Autodesk, and am certified as an Autodesk Inventor Expert.

I have been married for over five years and live in Milford, Michigan, (40 minutes outside of the Big D or Detroit). I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling for leisure, playing golf, a good Xbox challenge, and continuing my childhood hobby of RC (Radio Control) Car Racing.

BLOG OVERVIEW (The Dan Miles Idea Factory)

It’s not just a pilot or a test - Applying the tools in the real world for real benefits

Like a socket wrench, a hammer and a nail – everything is a tool and but be used at the right time for the proper job to deliver benefits. Yet in the real world, those tools are computer software, hardware, people, and a little custom code. The key to maximizing the effectiveness of the tools is through proper usage, application, methodologies, and implementation.

My idea factory is a BLOG that contains information about implementing technology within a manufacturing environment. Much of the focus is devoted to Autodesk Manufacturing products and solutions, including Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, Autodesk Productstream, and etc. Also contained within the factory (or others may call it soapbox), is engineering information and theories, industry insights, and technology updates. And from time to time, bits and pieces of my crazy and rewarding job, my personal life, and the childhood hobbies and toys that I just can’t seem to give up…..
