There is a new project Autodesk is working on called "Freewheel" and is currently in a preview release state. The new project will allow you to view DWF files without installing a viewer on your system. Basically you view the DWF file from a website. You can see an example here http://dwfit.com/
I think this type of item will open the doors even more for the use of DWF files within the manufacturing industry.
